The Syracuse Factor: Syracuse Univ. has the most successful program in DI college lacrosse. They are the gold standard having won 10 National Titles including the 2008 National Championship. They appeared in 22 consecutive NCAA Final Fours, a DI record. Syracuse Univ. lacrosse defines championship caliber play.
They are the program that produced the Gaits, the Powells, and numerous other All Americans throughout their storied history. We are extremely excited to bring you two of the top coaches in the country from Syracuse Univ. along with former standouts from Syracuse to provide you with the best camp experience in Florida. They are here to teach you! They will be at every session to help bring your game to a new level!
About This Camp (June 8th to 11th): This is the premier lacrosse camp in Florida! Lightning Lacrosse Camps has made a commitment to bringing in college coaches, pro players, and offers the best curriculum and most fun you will experience this summer! We have an elite division, an instructional division, and a youth/middle school division.
Elite Division - The Elite Division is strictly geared towards older high school players who want to or plan to play competitive college lacrosse (DI, DII, DIII). We run through many college level drills/scenarios. We also share keys to getting in game shape, nutritional tips, and weight lifting programs.
Instructional Division - The Instructional Division is for players who are younger high school players who still need work on the fundamentals of the game (catching, throwing, scooping). We focus on improving stick skills and also will have a tournament so that the players can apply their new skills in a game scenario.
Youth/Middle School Division - For all youth and middle school players who want to improve and have fun! We focus on the fundamentals to ensure a positive learning experience. This group too will have a camp tournament.

Shooting & Goalie Clinic - June 7th - Check In at 12pm (Overnight Option) - *This is for extra shooting and goalie work as our camp also covers these skills.

Director: The camp director for this summer is the same director who ran the camp at Barry University last summer, Liam Banks. Liam is a native of Long Island where he started playing lacrosse at a very young age. He was talented enough to land a scholarship with Syracuse University after having a storied high school career. Liam went on to be a 2X All American and was the Final Four MVP in 2000. Liam now plays professionally for the San Francisco Dragons as one of the league's best Attackmen. He is a sales rep for Warrior and Brine Sports for the Southeast and lives outside of Atlanta with his wife and three children.

About This Camp: As the name suggests this camp is exclusively designed for youth and middle school players in Pittsburgh. The staff will focus on the fundamentals (catching, throwing, scooping) to ensure that each camper begins learning the right muscle memory. Along with the superior lacrosse instruction, the camp will also feature non lacrosse related games and activities to keep the kids enjoying themselves all day long. We'll have indoor basketball and soccer. We will also have a dunk tank where the kids can shoot and dunk the coaches. We will have sumo wrestling suits and night time activities including movie night, pizza night, and ice cream night.
Director: The camp director for this summer is Michael Caravana. Coach Caravana lives in Charlottesville with his wife and three sons and coaches Woodberry Forrest School. Coach Caravana has had a storied coaching and playing career. A Long Island native, Coach Caravana was a 4X All American at the Univ. of Virginia. Before coaching at Woodberry Forrest School, Coach Caravana was the head coach at Denison University in Granville, OH for over ten years. He was recently the assistant coach of the USA National Team last summer in the World Games. He runs two youth camps in central Ohio every summer.

Camp Director and Staff: Alex Kahoe- Duke Univ. Asst. Coach


Alex will enter her third season as a Duke women’s lacrosse assistant in 2009. She will work primarily with returning goalkeepers Kim Imbesi and Cassi Carley and freshman Mollie Mackler. Kahoe was previously on the staff at the University of Delaware, where she served as an Associate Head Coach in 2005 and assistant coach the previous two seasons.
A 2000 graduate of the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in both criminal justice and sociology, Kahoe began her coaching career at her alma mater, serving as an assistant for head coach Cindy Timchal from 2000-2002. The Terrapins won their seventh straight national title in 2001 and advanced to the national quarterfinals in 2002.
Kahoe moved on to the University of Pennsylvania, where she served as an assistant coach under Karen Brower for the 2003 season. The Quakers posted a record of 6-10.
Kahoe enjoyed an outstanding career at Maryland as a goalkeeper, leading the Terrapins to five straight NCAA Division I national titles in 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000, three Atlantic Coast Conference titles, and a combined record of 100-5 during her tenure. She was a two-time team captain, earned All-America honors in 1998, 1999 and 2000, and was the NCAA Goalie of the Year her final two seasons. In addition, Kahoe was the 1997 ACC Rookie of the Year and the ACC Goalie of the Year three times. She was named to the ACC 50th Anniversary team in 2002. In the spring of 2006, she was selected to the NCAA 25th Anniversary All-Time Women’s Lacrosse team.
Still an active lacrosse player, Kahoe has been a member of the USA National Lacrosse Team since 1997 and has played with the Toyota Lacrosse Team since 2000. She was selected for and played on the 2005 U.S. World Cup training team, as well.

Directing this great camp is current Fairfield Univ. Head Coach and former University of Maryland coach, Andrew Copelan. Andrew is current coaching at one of the nation's premier college programs, Fairfield Univ. He is the former coach at Univ. of Maryland. Steeped in tradition, the Univ. of Maryland is one of the most storied programs in college lacrosse. He served as their Offensive Coordinator, one of the best offensive units in the country. He was also one of their top recruiters. Coach Copelan was formerly the Head Coach at Marist College in New York earning MAAC Coach of the Year Honors in 2004. He was a four year starter at Bucknell Univ. and helped lead them to four consequtive Patriot League Championships. Coach Coplan is one of the best coaches in the country and his enthusiasm for teaching will be a huge advantage to all who attend this camp.

About This Camp: Duke University brings its program to Nashville! This is one of the unique opportunities you will find in the Southeast! Duke University will bring its Duke Univ. camp to Nashville this summer to work with the kids in the Nashville area. No need to travel to get great instruction. The instruction comes to you!

About this Camp: This camp is for middle school and early high school players. The middle school campers will learn skills which will prepare them for high school play and the high school campers will learn skills which will prepare them for varsity play. The camp will focus on the fundamentals of the game as we will we continue to teach catching, throwing, and scooping in a fun filled environment. On top of the great instruction, we will also have a camp tournament where each age group will have a champion crowned on the final day.
Director: The director for this camp is North Carolina's own, Ken Broomfield. Ken is a the Head Coach at Laney High School in Wilmington, NC. Ken has been the Head Coach at Laney for the past six seasons and has won Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2003, 2004, and in 2005. He was also selected as North Carolina Coach of the Year in 2003. His teams have made the state playoffs every season he has coached.

Alabama Area Lacrosse Camp

About This Camp: This camp is designed specifically for the kids in the southeast. This camp will give them the opportunity to learn the game of lacrosse from some great coaches and also stay on campus at one of the great universities in the country. The focus of the camp will be improving each player's fundamental skills as well as expose them to some college coaches who don't normally get to see many kids in this area. We will cover all aspects of the game so we encourage all skill levels to attend this premier lacrosse experience. We will divide the kids into different age/skill levels to ensure a positive learning environment amongst their peers.
Camp Directors:
Scott Urick - The director of this great camp is Georgetown Asst. Coach, Scott Urick. Scott has been a coach with the Hoyas for the past 7 seasons as their offensive coordinator. His teams have consistently finished in the top 20 nationally in offensive statistics.
Scott has had a storied playing career having played for the Hoyas from '97-'00. He left Georgetown as it's all time leading scorer and a two time All-American. He was also a captain both his senior and junior years.
Scott now plays professionally for the New Jersey Pride where he has been a 4X All Star and MVP of the 2004 All Star Game.
In 2006 Scott represented the United States in the World Games in Canada. He scored a team high, 20 goals during the tournament. Scott is widely considered one of the best players in the world today and is looking forward to sharing his expertise, knowledge, and passion for the game with the young players in the southeast.
Dan Chemontti - Dan is currently the Asst. Coach of Loyola College in Baltimore, MD where he serves as offensive coordinator. He had been the Asst. Coach at St. John's for the past three seasons before coming to Loyola. He has also been an Asst. Coach with Darmouth College for three seasons.
Dan played his college ball at Duke University where he was team captain his senior year. His teams made the NCAA Tournament all 4 years while Dan was there.
Dan now plays professionally with the New Jersey Pride as one of their top midfielders.
Staff:
Chris Cos - Chris is Head Coach of BAMALAX, Alabama's elite travel team program and head coach of Hoover High School. Chris is also the owner of Alabama's only exclusive lacrosse retailer, Faceoff Alabama located in Vestavia, AL.
Chris grew up in New York and was an All State lacrosse and football player at North Rockland High School. He went on to play lacrosse at Castleton State College in Vermont and was 2X MVP, 2 year All Conference and was the school's first 100 goal scorer averaging almost 4 goals per game. He coached youth lacrosse in Crofton, MD and now is on the board of the Birmingham Youth Lacrosse League.
