About this Camp: This camp is geared towards raising the level of play in the Cleveland area at the middle school and high school levels. We will focus on the fundamentals and teach them in an environment where the kids learn the proper techniques but have fun at the same time! We will divide the kids into different skill/age groups to ensure a positive learning environment for all campers. We will cover all aspects of the game including shooting, defensive communication, dodging, footwork, and defensive holds.

We will also have a camp tournament where each group will have a champion crowned at the end of camp! Other activities at this camp will include swimming, bbq's, ice cream night, camp raffle, and camp dunk tank(dunk the counselors!)

2. We help new players get a better handle on the fundamentals and create more enthusiasm for the game.

Director: The camp director for this summer is Michael Caravana. Coach Caravana has had a storied coaching and playing career. A Long Island native, Coach Caravana was a 4X All American at the Univ. of Virginia. He has also been an Asst. Coach at both Univ. of Virginia and Brown Univ. Coach Caravana was the head coach at Denison University in Granville, OH for over ten years and took his teams to the DIII Final Four twice in three years. He was recently the assistant coach of the USA National Team in the 2006 World Games. He runs two youth camps in central Ohio every summer.

Directing this great camp is current Fairfield Univ. Head Coach and former University of Maryland coach, Andrew Copelan. Andrew is current coaching at one of the nation's premier college programs, Fairfield Univ.  He is the former coach at Univ. of Maryland.  Steeped in tradition, the Univ. of Maryland is one of the most storied programs in college lacrosse. He served as their Offensive Coordinator, one of the best offensive units in the country. He was also one of their top recruiters. Coach Copelan was formerly the Head Coach at Marist College in New York earning MAAC Coach of the Year Honors in 2004. He was a four year starter at Bucknell Univ. and helped lead them to four consequtive Patriot League Championships. Coach Coplan is one of the best coaches in the country and his enthusiasm for teaching will be a huge advantage to all who attend this camp.

Western Michigan Univ. Accommodations
Western Michigan Univ. is located in Kalamazoo, Michigan and offers a incredible location for this great camp. It features well manicured grass playing fields, top rate food options at every meal, and air-conditioned rooms for each camper. The housing accommodation offerings are double rooms (2 to a room) and we honor roommate requests. Western Michigan University also offers an indoor pool, indoor facilities in the event of rain, and tv/video room for watching movies and lacrosse videos.

Myers came to Chapel Hill after completing assistant coaching stints at three other schools - Bucknell University, Cornell University and his alma mater, The Ohio State University. Myers was a standout lacrosse player at OSU from 2000-03 and was recruited to be a Buckeye by Breschi himself, who started his tenure in Columbus in 1997.

A native of Maine, Myers has been an assistant coach on the collegiate level the past five seasons, every year since his graduate from Ohio State. He was the volunteer assistant coach at Ohio State in 2004, an assistant coach at Cornell University in 2005 and the offensive coordinator at Bucknell the past three seasons. At Bucknell, he was the offensive coordinator, the head assistant coach, the recruiting coordinator, the strength and conditioning supervisor and the academic monitor on the Bison staff.

Staff:  Coach Myers will be joined by other coaches from UNC as well as many of the current players.

Director: Lauren Hume - Carthage College Head Coach.

A native of Bainbridge Island, Was., Hume was a four-year lacrosse player at the University of Redlands from 2002 to 2005, where she also played soccer. She an assistant coach at the University of Redlands from 2006 to 2008, and she has been the West Coast coordinator for womenslacrosse.com since 2007. Hume received her bachelor?s in sociology and anthropology from Redlands in 2005 and her master?s in educational administration, also from Redlands, in 2008.

Director:  Duke University Asst. Coach - Chris Gabrielli

Coach Gabrielli joined the Duke men's lacrosse coaching staff prior to the 2007 season and works with the Blue Devil defensive unit.

In 2007, the Duke defense led the ACC and ranked eighth nationally by allowing 7.65 goals per game. Four individuals earned USILA All-America honors as longstick midfielder Nick O'Hara and defenseman Casey Carroll were first team selections while goalkeeper Dan Loftus and defenseman Tony McDevitt were third team picks. Starting all 20 games in the Blue Devil net, Loftus led the ACC in both goals against average (7.70) and save percentage (.614).

Gabrielli spent the 2006 season as an assistant coach at Butler where he served as the recruiting coordinator while working primarily with the defense. Under his mentorship, three Butler defensemen earned All-GWLL honors.

Gabrielli was a member of the coaching staff at his alma mater, Massachusetts, from 2003-05, helping the Minutemen to a 33-13 overall record with two NCAA quarterfinal berths. Gabrielli was a member of the practice squad for the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse during the 2004 season before being drafted again by the Cannons in the 2005 Supplemental Draft. In 2004, he co-founded the Mid-Summer Classic, a high school lacrosse tournament currently held on the UMass campus.

A four-year letterman as a defenseman at Massachusetts, Gabrielli was credited with 127 ground balls and five assists in his career. As a senior in 2001, he captained the Minutemen to a 12-2 overall record and a share of the ECAC championship while earning second team all-conference and first team All-New England honors. A two-time winner of the Eric Sopracasa "Heart and Soul Award", an honor presented annually to the UMass player who displays the most leadership and dedication to the program, Gabrielli went on to play in the 2001 North-South All-Star game and the MLL Major League Challenge.

About This Camp: The camp is geared towards all middle school players and early high school players (9th and 10th graders). The Lightning Lacrosse Camps will divide the camp into these two very distinct groups so that each group is learning specifically amongst their peers to ensure a positive learning experience. There are two major components of this camp. One, we will teach the proper fundamentals to ensure the kids learn the correct muscle memory. We will do this through contemporary station work and drilling. Two, we will have a camp tournament going on throughout the week for both groups. We will divide the kids up into different teams and crown a camp champion at the end of the week!

About This Camp:  This camp is open to any and all Wisconsin High School players who wish to play collegiate lacrosse.  The purpose of this camp is to prepare each player for  the challenges and rewards associated with playing beyond high school at all college levels. 

We will have college coaches representing the DI level, DII level, DIII level, and the club level.

3.  We will test each player on their 40 yard dash time, bench press, and push ups, shuttle run and shot velocity.

4.  We will have a coaches night where players can interact with the representatives of these colleges.

 

Director: Kevin Bice, the current Univ. of Minnesota Recruiting Coordinator will direct this inaugural event.  Kevin has vast experience is this realm of lacrosse having grown up and played in Madison, WI.  He knows the landscape of high school lacrosse in the area very well and that will play into the event's quality.

About This Camp: This camp is for all middle school and high school players in Minnesota! We will have two major components to this event. The first and most important is the teaching component. We will focus on the fundamentals of the game to ensure that each camper is learning the correct muscle memory through drills and station work. For the more advanced players we will certainly reiterate the fundamentals but also begin to teach more difficult skills such as restarts, fakes, checks, and communication. The second component of the camp is the camp tournament. Just as we will with the teaching component, the campers will be divided into different age/skills levels for the tournament to ensure a positive and competitive environment. We will play games and have different challenges throughout the week and crown a team champion for each age/skill level on the last day of camp!

Director: The director of this camp is Univ. of North Carolina Asst. Coach, Katy O'Mara.  UNC is perenially on of the top 5 programs in college lacrosse.   Katy brings a wealth of knowledge to this great overnight/extended day camp.  She played her college lacrosse at Division I power, Darmouth College.  She was an All Ivy  League performer and Regional All American during her career.  She was known for her defensive skills and primarily coaches the defense at UNC.

Staff: Joininng Katie will be several players from the current UNC team.  These players will be supplemented by the best coaches in the Minnesota area.
