Lightning Lacrosse Owner – Sean Furber

Lightning Lacrosse was started in 2006 by Owner/President Sean Furber. Sean grew up in the Philadelphia area where he excelled in soccer, wrestling, and lacrosse. His father, first put a stick in his hands when he was just 4 years old.  He played in the famed Ashby Youth lacrosse program and was fortunate to be coached by Pennsylvania high school lacrosse legend, John Linehan.  He played all 3 sports throughout high school, and was a captain of all 3 at Lower Merion High School. His senior year, his peers voted him Athlete of the Year in 1996, the same year that Kobe Bryant of the LA Lakers was a senior at Lower Merion High School.  Offered scholarships to wrestle or play soccer in college, Sean choose lacrosse.   A Top205 recruiting camp All-Star, he played lacrosse at Denison University in Granville, OH where he was captain of the 2001 Final Four team. He was voted to also play in the North/South Senior All-Star game that same year.

National Recruiting Director – Brooke Young

Brooke Young is a resident of West Chester, Pennsylvania where she attended B. Reed Henderson High School and played four years of field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse.  Her senior year she was the Philadelphia Inquirer  lacrosse player of the year and a first team All-American.  She earned a four year athletic scholarship to the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where, during her sophomore year, she was a starting attacker who helped lead her team to an ACC Championship and the NCAA DI Final Four.  Upon graduation she began her coaching career as an assistant coach at Downingtown East High School, while working full time as the assistant director of the Downingtown Area Recreation Consortium.  She moved to United Sports Training Center as Director of Women’s Lacrosse which sponsored local leagues and hosted national high school and collegiate lacrosse tournaments.  Following USTC she began her collegiate coaching career as the head assistant at Franklin and Marshall College when the Diplomats went to the final four each year of her three year coaching tenure, winning the Division III national championship her second year.  In 2010, Young moved on to Division I Monmouth University where she served as the head assistant coach and coordinated the offense.
